Brief Background:
Mohammed Ziaul Azad is currently
working towards the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering (EE) in the
Microwave Engineering Laboratory under Dr. Ali’s supervision.

|
Azad
received his Master of Engineering degree in EE from USC in 2007. Earlier he
received his B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Bangladesh
University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka,
in 2002. He is the author or coauthor of several refereed journal articles
and conference papers. His research interests include antenna
miniaturization, diversity antennas, antennas for mobile phone and WLAN, GPS
antennas, RF circuit design, and electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structures.

Brief Background:
Rashed H. Bhuiyan joined the
Microwave Engineering Laboratory as a graduate research assistant in January
2006. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in the Department of
Electrical Engineering at the University
of South Carolina.

Prior
to joining USC, he received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. both in Electrical &
Electronic Engineering from the Bangladesh
University of Engineering &
Technology (BUET), Dhaka,
Bangladesh.
At USC, he is working on wireless sensing and monitoring of electric ship
power system.

Rashidul Islam

Brief Background:
Md.
Rashidul Islam has joined the Microwave Engineering Lab as a Research
Assistant in August 2007. He completed B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic
Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, in
February 2004. Having completed his B.Sc., he joined AKTEL where he worked for 3 years as a Microwave Transmission
Network Designer. His current research interests include flexible antennas,
ultra wideband antennas, reconfigurable antennas, specific absorption rate
(SAR) and engineered materials for wireless applications. He has a research
paper on Speech Processing which
was published in ICECE 2004, Dhaka,
Bangladesh.

Brief Background:
Xiaohua Jin became the member of Microwave
Engineering Laboratory in May, 2007. She received her
B.E. and M.S. degrees in Automation of Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing,
China.
Then she got her Ph. D. in mathematics from University
of South Carolina. She has a good
skill in engineering design and mathematics simulation. Her research work is
focused on wireless embedded sensors for structural health
monitoring.

Brief Background:
Taher
Sharabati earned his BSEE and MSEE degrees from St. Cloud State, MN and University
of Toledo, OH respectively. In July 2001, he joined Motorola platform and
reference design team working on reference design and platform of Next
generation chipsets.

Brief Background:
Istvan Szini joined the Microwave
Engineering Laboratory as a graduate student in summer 2005. Currently, he is
pursuing his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical Engineering at University
of South Carolina. Prior to
joining USC, he took his Masters credits in Electronic Systems at University
of Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo Brazil
(1995), and Bachelor degree on Electrical Engineering at University Mogi das
Cruzes in Sao Paulo Brazil
(1990). Istvan has over 24 years of professional experience in
telecommunications industry, starting as electronic technician in Ford
Electronic Division, Senior Research & Development Engineer in NEC Brazil
developing Fiber Optical Transmission Systems (eight years) and CDMA/PHS and
WLL wireless networks (two years), in the last ten years have been working in
Motorola Inc. Libertyville/IL/US, nowadays Istvan is Principal Staff Engineer
part of Antenna Technology Center of Excellence research, providing
innovative antenna solutions for mobile devices.
