The USC Microwave Engineering Laboratory  is involved in researching, designing and developing of miniature antennas, antennas integrated with rectifying elements (rectennas), proximity coupled wireless sensors, metamaterials and their interaction with antennas, and the study of electromagnetic radiation on humans. Our research is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the Office of Naval Research, and the Mobile Manufacturer’s Forum (MMF). Specifically our current research is focused on

  • Electrically Small Antennas
  • Ultra-Thin Directional Antennas on Engineered Materials
  • Wireless Sensing and Monitoring of Power Systems/infrastructures
  • Bio-electromagnetic Effects of EM Radiation (SAR)
  • Antennas and Circuits for Biomedical Applications
  • Low-Profile Slot Antennas for UltraWideband Applications
