Research Interest: Millimeter-wave integrated circuits, wireless communication applications, electronic packaging modeling for VLSI devices, microwave antenna and scattering applications.
Yinchao Chen received the B.S. degree in space physics and the Ph. D. degree in electrical engineering from Wuhan University, PRC, and the University of South Carolina, USA, respectively, in 1982 and 1992.
Dr. Chen currently is an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of South Carolina, USA. During his earlier career in China, he was a Microwave and Antenna Engineer with Nanjing Research Institute of Electronic Technology. From 1989 to 1995, he was a Teaching and Research Assistant, Postdoctoral Fellow, Adjunct Assistant Professor, and Visiting Scholar Fellow with the University of South Carolina, South Carolina State University, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, respectively. He was an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, during the period from October 1995 to June 2000.
His current research interests include computational electromagnetic with applications of millimeter-wave integrated circuits, wireless communication applications, electronic packaging modeling for VLSI devices, microwave antenna and scattering applications.
He has published over 110 international publications in refereed journals and conference symposia. He is a contributor of 3 book chapters, a co-editor of the book, Recent Research Development of Microwave Theory and Techniques, vol. 2, (Transworld Research Network), and a co-author of the book, Multiresolution Time Domain Scheme for Electromagnetic Engineering Applications (to be published with John Wiley & Sons).
