Dr. Alexander Grekov

Background:

Dr. Alexander Grekov joined Professor Sudarshan’s research team in July 2001 as a Graduate Research Assistant. His credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering from University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC and Diploma of Specialization in Electrical Engineering from Taganrog State University of Radio Engineering, Russia. During his work in the SiC Research Lab at USC, Dr. Grekov has acquired a rigorous clean room experience and knowledge in design, fabrication, and characterization of SiC devices.

Research:

Dr. Grekov’s research is focused on study of degradation phenomenon in SiC bipolar devices and development of diffusion technique to prevent degradation of forward voltage drop in SiC PiN diodes. Another important project he is currently conducting is a detailed analysis of the defect-device performance correlation and identification of the issues that could deteriorate the device performance and yield in SiC Schottky diodes. He is a key researcher for a number of research projects assigned by Office of Naval Research and Department of Defense. Up to date Dr. Grekov have authored/coauthored 6 peer-reviewed articles in the major scientific journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices (USA), Journal of Applied Physics (USA), and Material Science Forum (Switzerland) and presented the results of his research at a number of the national and international conferences.
