Biography
Grigory Simin received the M.S.S.E degree from Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute, Leningrad, USSR, in 1971. He received his Ph.D. degree in physics (Physics of Semiconductors and Dielectrics) from GIRICOND Science & Research Institute, Leningrad, Russia, and a Senior Research Scientist Diploma from Supreme State Committee on Academic Degrees in 1985. His research at that time had included Gunn effect devices, GaAs FETs, microwave and optical integrated circuits, semiconductor lasers.
From 1998 G. Simin is a senior research scientist at Microelectronics and Photonics
Lab. (PML), Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Univ. of South Carolina. From
2001 he is an Associate Professor, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Univ. of
South Carolina. His current research focus is GaN based electronic and
optoelectronic devices. At the Dept. of Electrical Engineering of the USC, Dr.
Simin teaches courses in semiconductor electronic (ELCT 574 ) and
optoelectronic (ELCT 566
) devices.
G. Simin has published 4 books on
semiconductor devices and physics, more than 120 papers and had made more than
50 presentations in International Conferences and Workshops.
