During Regularly Scheduled Hours:
- The student must complete an account form during scheduled hours.
- Parts and equipment can only be checked-out for a scheduled lab exercise or faculty
approved project.
- If the student will be taking equipment out of Swearingen, Area 51 will need a
note , e-mail or memo from the Faculty person authorizing the loan.
- If the equipment will be used inside Swearingen, note on the account form the
room where the work will take place.
- Parts and equipment for special projects can be borrowed only if these items are not
needed by the lab students during the period of the loan.
- Make sure all items are in a secure place. You will be responsible for any item stolen
while in your possession.
- Laboratory computer equipment cannot be borrowed, moved, or removed without the
consent of David London.
- Removing equipment or other items from their assigned areas will be considered theft
and will be reported.
- Decisions by Area 51 TAs can be appealed to the Laboratory oversight Committee.
Off Hours:
- When equipment (that you have access to) is needed for a faculty authorized project
during off-hours, you may take the items under these conditions:
- Send an e-mail to Ahmad Heidari explaining briefly the situation. State where
the equipment will be located and the Faculty member accepting responsibility
for this loan.
- Come by Area 51 as soon as possible to officially sign-out the items.
- Make sure the items are in a secure place. You will be required to replace
anything stolen while in your possession.
- Removing equipment or other items from their assigned areas will be considered theft
and will be reported.
- All other rules regarding responsibility for damage and replacement of items also
apply.
