EE Student Advisory Board

A leadership opportunity for undergraduate students is the department’s Student Advisory Board (SAB), an elected group of undergraduate students who meet with their advisor, Dr. Enrico Santi, and with the department chair, Dr. T.S. Sudarshan, several times during the school year. The students serve in an advisory capacity and have the opportunity to voice their feedback on courses and offer their opinions. In fact, the department solicits their criticism, and students are encouraged to be completely honest. This meeting usually takes place twice a semester, and the group discusses various topics of interest or concern to the students or the faculty.

The SAB is important in telling the faculty what’s working in the department and what isn’t, and it offers possible solutions to the problems at hand. The council also serves as a college recruitment tool, with SAB members meeting with potential undergraduate students from various high schools. More students are encouraged to take part in the SAB, since the evolution and accomplishments of both the council and the department are highly dependent on student involvement.

Current members of the board are:

  • Adam B. Hayes, President
  • Paul Hewitt, Vice President
  • Dean Kersey
  • Jacob Lord
  • Rahmi Pak
  • Gabriel Brown
  • Brittany Richards
