Come to the Solar Car Summer Camp 2009!

Imagine a robot that can sense heat, light, and wind. How would you like to build one and race it? You will be engaged in a world of sensors as you are guided in the construction of the circuits that allow the robot to sense these elements.

What is a Solar Robot Car?

A solar robot car is exactly what it sounds like... it is a toy car that is powered by the sun!

The electrical aspect of the car consists of the actual solar panel and the circuitry that is designed to have the intelligence to sense heat, light, and wind. The car will follow a track that is designed to use these elements as obstacles. There will be a competition at the end to determine the most efficient car.

In this day and age where alternative energy is all the rage, this enlightening opportunity will expose you to a rapidly developing field.

So, sign up today!

What can I expect?

By spending a week on campus you will get a feel for college life, meet new friends with the same interests, and maybe even figure out your potential career path. In the end, you will walk away with a fresh sense of what Electrical Engineering is!

• Food, transportation, and living accommodations will be provided. The program will also include exposure to industry, if time permits.

• You will learn basic electrical engineering concepts and terminology

- With the knowledge gained, each day you will get closer to completing the final project: A SOLAR ROBOT CAR!
