Welcome, Dr. Feng ZhaoThe Electrical Engineering Department is proud to have new faculty member, Dr. Feng Zhao. Coming to USC from a position in the research industry, Assistant Professor Zhao brings a wealth of interesting experience to the department and the current class he is teaching, “Introduction to Microelectronics”. Dr. Zhao received his B.S. degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China in 1997, the M.Eng. degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree from The University of Colorado at Boulder in 2004 under the supervision of Professor Bart Van Zeghbroeck. He has been a Device Scientist of Microsemi Corporation until he joined our department. His research interests are SiC devices for RF and power applications, and SiC-based power ICs. He has published nearly 30 technical papers in refereed journals and international conferences, including 2 invited papers and 1 pending patent. He is a member of IEEE and member of Sigma Xi. In addition to research, Dr. Zhao is enthusiastic about classroom teaching and curriculum development. His teaching approach is to assist students in understanding the scientific theory from course materials, and additionally, to benefit their future professional careers in both industry and academia through hands-on training. |
