Professor T. S. Sudarshan, Chair of the EE Department, presented with the prestigious Russell Research Award for Science, Mathematics, and Engineering for 2010

Professor T. S. Sudarshan, Chair of the EE Department, was presented with the prestigious Russell Research Award for Science, Mathematics, and Engineering for 2010. Prof. Sudarshan has had a long and successful career at USC, he continues in his Silicon Carbide research where his group focuses on the novel techniques of growth of silicon carbide (SiC) bulk and epitaxial films and device/defect correlations. In the Spring of 2006, Prof. Sudarshan was awarded the Michael J. Mungo Distinguished Professor the Year award, USC’s highest award for teaching excellence, and in 2008, he was awarded the Carolina Trustee Professorship for outstanding teaching, innovative and creative research, and public service. He is a Carolina Distinguished Professor and has held that appointment since 1986. He has over 190 journal publications, 160 conference presentations, 5 book chapters, five patents, and 26 disclosures. He has been awarded approximately $18M in research grant funding from various government agencies (ONR, NSF, ARO, etc.) and industries.
