Abstract:

The thesis describes the design and implementation of the one-dimensional discrete wavelet transform (DWT) based on a novel and fast approach of Address Indexing using a Xilinx field programmable gate array (FPGA) for the fault detection and diagnosis purposes in distributed systems.

In distributed systems, the factors like processing speeds, system reliability and cost effectiveness necessitate a diagnostic system to choose an efficient signal analysis algorithm for fault diagnosis. In this context, the paper presents different approaches in implementing a signal algorithm based on Wavelet Analysis along with their throughput comparisons.
